Stepping UP and into Autumn - The Global Angels Awards

Mid-November isn’t usually office down time, but at BerryWhite HQ we have to snatch a couple of minutes to reflect on a crazy and wonderful couple of weeks.

Between attending the world’s biggest Food and Drink trade show, ‘SIAL’, in Paris and launching in Ocado, we had just enough time to scrub up for the second Annual Global Angels Awards- something we had been looking forward to for months!

Held at The Brewery in London, the Global Angel Awards welcomed a plethora of glamorous guests all eager to support ‘the 100% charity’. The Awards themselves were accompanied by an intimate concert headlined by international soul singer Joss Stone; Joss was joined on stage by the wonderful voices of Beverley Knight and Sandie Shaw.

It goes without saying we were exceptionally excited to attend and rather in awe of the whole event; for its execution and its raison d'etre. The Awards are held by Global Angels to honour “philanthropic endeavours of some inspirational companies and individuals, who share the vision and passion of Global Angels; to make the world a safe and kinder place for all.”

We were honoured and humbled to discover BerryWhite won the Global Angels ‘Step Up’ Award for our support. We pledge a donation from every bottle sold to Global Angels, a minimum of 10% of BerryWhite® profits. It is important to us that BerryWhite should not just taste good and be good for you, but gives back, in some way, to others.

In receiving the award we were placed among some truly admirable company. Other winners included ‘Inspirational Angel’ Dr Steff Nash FRCS FCEM and the ‘Outstanding Corporate Philanthropy Programme’ General Mills. The evening itself raised a phenomenal £100 000!

The thing about Global Angels is they really make an effort to clarify where your donation is going. Proceeds raised on November 9th were designated to provide some of the following: 2 brick making machines to build medical clinics in Mozambique; a water well in Tanzania constructed by Simon Konecki’s organization serving a village of 4,000 people; 24 water wells to provide safe drinking water for 24 villages in rural India - that’s 24,000 people; the completion of the ground floor for a 300-child school in rural Uganda and life-changing hare lip and cleft palate operations for 9 children in the Philippines’s.

Sometimes, somewhere between the coffee making or the trade shows, the sales deals or taking the kids to school, it is easy to forget what a big difference a small effort can make. Global Angels reminds us that we can help other people… even if it is one bottle at a time. So whilst our glitzy dresses and suit jackets are returned to the wardrobe, we have returned to our work with exactly that motivation: the busier we are, the more likely we are to make someone else’s life better in the long term.

BerryWhite® steps up to collect coveted Charity Award

New organic superfruits soft drink brand BerryWhite® further cemented it’s ‘tastes good, does good’ positioning as it collected the much coveted Step Up Award at this year’s Global Angel Awards in London.

Recognising new individuals and businesses that commit to helping fulfil the charity’s 100% Promise, enabling every penny of public donations to go directly to the causes, Andrew Jennings, CEO & founder of BerryWhite®, took to the stage at the star studded ceremony to receive the award from charity founder Molly Bedingfield, mother of singers Natasha and Daniel.

Launched earlier this year, BerryWhite® offers a range of four distinctly original organic, non-carbonated drinks that provide great taste and added health benefits. Passionate about driving responsible purchasing behaviours, Jennings aligned with the charity Global Angels, an international charity, empowering disadvantaged children and communities around the world and pledged to make a donation for every bottle purchased or a minimum of 10% of their profits, whichever is greater.

Andrew Jennings comments: “It has always been my ambition to be very transparent and committed to a cause like Global Angels. Unlike other brands which make charity claims, the Global Angels charity is guaranteed to benefit from this brand association. It really is an honour to receive an award like this and I’m very much looking forward to continuing our relationship with this fantastic charity.”

The awards ceremony, which took place at The Brewery in London on Friday 9th November, climaxed in an Angels in Concert spectacular with Joss Stone and Friends, including sing-er/song writer and MBE Beverley Knight and English pop sensation known as “the barefoot pop princess of the 1960s” Sandie Shaw.

Each of the four BerryWhite® variants combine white tea with superfruits renowned for their high nutritional value and high anti-oxidant capacity. They contain no artificial preservatives, additives or added sugar.

BerryWhite® has already secured listings in Planet Organic and Ocado and is being distributed in Denmark, The Netherlands, Kuwait, Qatar and UAE. The bottles are 330ml and are packed in cases of 12. BerryWhite® is best displayed cold but has an ambient shelf life of 12 months. Each bottle has an RRP of £1.69.
